Anthony Giglio is a prominent sommelier, writer, educator, and speaker whose witty, unpretentious style in Food & Wine’s weekly “Wine Wise Guy” column has gained him a size-able following. Giglio’s message to imbibers is that wine-drinking should be a pleasurable experience, and encourages them to trust their own tastes.

Giglio is the author of 11 books, including Cocktails in New York, Passport to Italian Wine, five editions of Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s Guide, and three editions of the annual Food & Wine Guide review of 1,000+ wines. Currently, he is a wine reporter for CBS News Radio, as well as an online sommelier for the Food & Wine’s Connoisseur Club.

Giglio has written for a number of prominent publications such as New York, Esquire, Details, The New York Observer, and Every Day with Rachael Ray, and has been featured several times in the New York Times. He is also known for his appearances on Food Network, CNBC, FOX Business News, and the Today Show. Giglio’s versatility extends to blogging as well — he serves as the “Resident Sensualist” blogger at TheImprovisedLife.com, and the “Official Vino Blogger” for ItalianMade.com. Giglio has been invited to speak twice at The Moth, a non-profit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling.

Giglio is booked regularly by corporations like Condé Nast, Time Warner, and Bank of America to lead educational wine and spirits tastings and dinners with a humorous twist. He also leads riotous wine tours of Italy with Authentic Sicily.
