About

Gin Blossoms is an American rock band from Arizona known for hits such as “Hey Jealousy” and “Follow You Down.”

Gin Blossoms formed in Tempe, Arizona in 1987, a tumultuous first year during which the band underwent a series of personnel shifts. After self-funding their debut, Dusted (1989), the band was picked up by A&M records, and began work on their label debut. New Miserable Experience was released in 1992, slowly but steadily reaching the Billboard 200 the following year. “Hey Jealousy” also reached number four on Billboard’s rock chart, further boosting the album’s notoriety. Another single from that album, “Found Out About You,” reached number one on Modern Rock charts, helping New Miserable Experience to go quadruple platinum by 1996.

Congratulations I’m Sorry hit shelves in 1996, bolstered by the popularity of its leading single, “Till I Hear It from You,” which peaked at four on Album Rock charts. The album eventually went platinum but was not as successful as its predecessor, leading Gin Blossoms to split in 1997 and pursue independent projects. Four years later, the band reunited and began touring regularly. They released Major Lodge Victory in 2006 through Hybrid Records, once again entering the Billboard 200.

Over the next years, Gin Blossoms replaced drummer Scott Kusmirek with John Richardson, who played on the band’s 2009 Live in Concert. The next year saw the release of No Chocolate Cake, which debuted at 73 on Billboard charts. After touring for many years, the band came back with Mixed Reality in 2018, a collaboration with Don Dixon and Mitch Easter of R.E.M. Gin Blossoms still performs regularly, and can be booked for corporate entertainment events and private parties.
