American Authors is an American rock band known for their hit singles “Believer” and “Best Day of My Life.”

The members of American Authors met while they were students at Berklee College of Music. During their early years, when they were known as the Blue Pages, they recorded a series of albums including Surrounded by Wolves, Bear Fight, Night Hawke, Anthropology, and Rich With Love. After opening for Cash Cash on a 2010, the band moved to Brooklyn and changed their name to American Authors.

American Authors signed with Mercury Records in 2013, quickly releasing the widely noticed single, “Believer,” which won Overall Grand Prize in the 2013 Annual USA Songwriting Competition and reached number nine on Billboard’s Top New Artists chart. In 2015, the band appeared on NBC’s Today show, where they performed “Best Day of My Life” from their self-titled debut EP.

Between 2015 and 2017, American Authors released two albums, What We Live For, and Seasons, the latter of which saw its eighth single, “Bring It On Home,” featured in the trailer for the documentary film, The Biggest Little Farm. The band’s music has been featured in various other films and TV shows, including The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Vampire Diaries, How to Train Your Dragon 2, and St. Vincent.

American Authors have performed at various music festivals including Lollapalooza, Firefly, Leeds, SXSW, and others. They are also regularly booked for private parties and corporate entertainment events.
